Freshfields has advised Southern Cross Management, L.P. and its affiliates in connection with a multi-asset GP-led secondary transaction with respect to Southern Cross Latin America Private Equity Fund V, L.P.  The transaction involved the sale by Fund V of seven portfolio investments to a new extension fund managed by Southern Cross.  Fund V investors were provided with the option to participate in the transaction as sellers or to roll over their Fund V interests for new interests in the extension fund.  As part of the transaction, investors in a CKD Mexican Trust, which co-invested alongside of Fund V in certain investments, were also offered the opportunity to sell or roll their CKD interests.  Fairview Capital Group Ltd. acted as Southern Cross’s financial advisor to the transaction.

The Freshfields team for this transaction was led by partners Tim Clark and Ivet Bell and associates Rosie Jiang, Nathalie Kupfer, Marvin Galloway and Madeline Goodlad. This was the third GP-led transaction that members of the Freshfields team have completed for Southern Cross.  The Freshfields Private Funds and Secondaries team was nominated as Secondary Firm of the Year in 2024 by SecondaryLink.
