Rawan Bahamran is a legal advisor in our Global Projects Disputes Practice based in Riyadh. She specialises in complex dispute resolution and advisory work across the Middle East, with experience spanning construction, projects, energy, corporate transactions, and regulatory matters. Rawan is fluent in Arabic and English.
Rawan advises clients on high‑value, business‑critical matters, including construction disputes, EPC contracts, cross‑border project agreements, and shareholder issues. She regularly supports multinational companies, sovereign entities, and major regional developers on contentious and non‑contentious mandates.
Before joining Freshfields, Rawan gained experience across corporate and disputes mandates, including drafting substantive legal memoranda, supporting ongoing litigation, and advising on bankruptcy‑law issues. She contributed to significant M&A and joint venture transactions and supported the approval of more than 30 projects.
Rawan also delivers training sessions to clients in the construction sector and is currently authoring a comprehensive book chapter on arbitration under the Saudi Centre for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), and another book on construction under the Saudi law.
Rawan's experience includes advising:

- A real estate developer on a multimillion‑dollar project development and operations agreement for a hospitality project in the GCC.
- A client preparing for a proposed initial public offering on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul).
- A multinational energy corporation on criminal - and potentially civil - proceedings in the Middle East.
- Multiple pro bono clients, including advising on Syria’s reconstruction and justice processes, and a breach‑of‑duty‑of‑care dispute in the Middle East.
