Pay transparency

hero-image-0

Global employers should monitor the expected adoption of national laws implementing the EU Pay Transparency Directive (PTD), which aims to combat pay discrimination and close the gender pay gap in the EU. The PTD sets out reporting obligations for employers, a prohibition on pay secrecy agreements, offers redress to the victims of discrimination, strengthens the information rights of jobseekers and employees and more.

Preparing for the PTD’s implementation and anticipating potential risks in this area is key, given that collective action or group workforce litigation is a real threat.

Our team offers in-depth and practical expertise on both the existing pay transparency landscape and how the latter is likely to be impacted by the PTD and what this means for employers, notably as regards their current pay structures.

To strengthen our offering across EU member states and stay abreast of national implementation efforts, we partner with reputable firms from our StrongerTogether network in jurisdictions where we do not have a presence or an employment team, and with which we have been working closely throughout the years.

Our team contributed as co-editors, and as authors of eight country chapters, to the International Employment Lawyer’s Guide to Pay Transparency, which provides a comprehensive overview of remuneration disclosure rules across 24 jurisdictions worldwide, as well as advice on how to mitigate risk, and create more transparent and equitable workplaces.
