Freshfields advises longstanding client TalkTalk on acquisition by BT Group

Global law firm Freshfields is advising its longstanding client TalkTalk on its acquisition by BT Group.

The acquisition follows a lengthy process and came into effect by way of pre-pack administrations, which concluded in the disposal to BT on Monday morning (05 October). The administrators of the relevant TalkTalk group companies are funded to ensure continuity of services and a smooth transition of the operating businesses to BT Group.

Freshfields advised on all aspects of the transaction including M&A, anti-trust, finance, restructuring tax, IP, and employment aspects. A cross-practice team was led by partners Ken Baird and Lindsay Hingston. Partner Alastair Mordaunt advised on antitrust aspects.

Freshfields continues to act as the lead advisor to the joint Administrators, Andrea Jakes, Jonny Marston, and Richard Fleming.
