Freshfields advises Sedex and its shareholders on strategic investment in Sedex by Apax Funds

May 12 2026

Global law firm Freshfields is advising Sedex Information Exchange Limited (“Sedex”) and its shareholders on a strategic investment in Sedex by funds advised by Apax Partners LLP. Sedex is a global leader in supply chain risk management solutions.

The transaction marks a successful exit for LDC, Sedex’s existing minority investor and part of the Lloyds Banking Group, whose 2023 investment helped Sedex evolve its data platform, assessment tools and other solutions. Sedex has over 20 years of expertise and is a global technology company specialising in data, insights and professional services to empower supply chain sustainability. The deal, through which funds advised by Apax Partners LLP will acquire a controlling stake in Sedex, is subject to customary closing conditions.

The Freshfields team is led by London-based private capital partners Tim Wilmot and Mark Brewer, with partner Thomas McGrath leading on antitrust matters and partner May Smith advising on tax matters.

Further information on the transaction can be found here.
