Global law firm Freshfields has advised BIOTRONIK SE & Co. KG, a leading global medical technology company headquartered in Germany, on the refinancing of its existing facilities and the implementation of a new syndicated loan facility.
BIOTRONIK’s products and services save and improve the lives of millions of people with heart and vascular conditions as well as chronic pain. Driven by the ambition to perfectly align technology with the human body, the company focuses on innovation and quality, developing reliable cardiovascular, endovascular and neuromodulation solutions.
In 2023, the company completed a refinancing package, including promissory note loans, which was also advised on by Freshfields. The new financing consists of a syndicated loan agreement, replacing the company’s existing credit facilities.
The Freshfields team was led by Partners, Michael Josenhans and Mario Hüther as well as Counsel Alexander Pospisil and Principal Associate Laura Korndörfer. The team further consisted of Associate Thilo Köhler (all Frankfurt, Finance).
