Kathrin focuses on regulated consumer products and industries.
She is a Principal Associate in Freshfields’ Vienna office, advising on public law with a strong focus on regulatory matters affecting transactions and complex business activities. She brings more than ten years of experience advising on regulated products, highly regulated industries, and sustainability‑related regulation, in particular in the context of M&A and other strategic transactions.
She supports clients on regulatory risk assessment, investment control, regulatory approvals, and compliance issues across a broad range of industries. She is very well connected within the global DR (REG) Team, notably due to her secondments to the London and Düsseldorf teams.
- Advising Japan Tobacco International on all aspect of the regulatory framework for the tobacco industry in Austria
- Advising a large pharmaceutical company on the registration and distribution of pharmaceuticals in Austria; in particular related to the introduction of new products, advertising and sale of products etc
- Advising pharmaceutical and medical device companies on compliance and advertising issues
- Advising a large automobile manufacturer on several regulatory issues
