Joe is an associate in Freshfields' securities and shareholder litigation practice based in New York. Joe represents clients in securities and shareholder derivative litigation, complex commercial litigation and class actions, and government and internal investigations.
Prior to joining Freshfields, Joe was a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where he served on the Michigan Law Review. Before law school, he spent several years on Capitol Hill as a U.S. Senate staffer.

- Represented a multinational financial institution in multiple securities class actions and shareholder derivative actions arising out of its hiring practices, mortgage lending practices, and compliance with regulatory consent orders
- Represented an independent director of a Chinese transportation company in a securities class action arising out of the company’s initial public offering
- Represented a private equity firm and affiliated entities in a shareholder class action in the Delaware Court of Chancery alleging breaches of fiduciary duty and other claims arising out of a take-private transaction involving a renewable energy company
