Lukas is a Principal Associate in our dispute resolution practice.
Lukas represents domestic and international clients in high-stakes litigation, arbitration and out-of-court disputes. He has particular experience in the financial institutions sector and in post-M&A, joint venture and shareholder arbitration. He also advises clients across a range of industries on managing litigation risk arising from large-scale compliance and commercial projects, with a particular focus on EU digital platform regulation.
He is a member of our Financial Institutions Disputes, International Arbitration and Mass Claims groups. From April to December 2020, Lukas was seconded to Airbus in Toulouse.

- Advising a leading German investment bank and financial services provider in connection with the successful settlement of a former employee's claim exceeding EUR 100 million.
- Advising a major European management company and fund services provider on potential investor claims relating to multiple alternative investment funds.
- Representing a major German bank in multiple disputes concerning the validity and enforceability of negative interest rate provisions.
- Representing a German investment bank in court proceedings concerning claims arising from its role as syndicate agent and its involvement in negotiations to restructure a multi-billion-euro financing.

- Representing a European aerospace company in ICC arbitrations arising from long-term agreements for the supply of materials used in the manufacture of large commercial aircraft, governed by German, English and French law.
- Representing a major German chemical company in an ICC arbitration arising from a shareholders’ agreement governing a joint venture in the energy sector.
- Representing a listed German chemical company in construction disputes and negotiations with international contractors, including its EPCM contractor, relating to the construction of a large-scale chemical plant.
- Advising a European bank in a post-M&A arbitration under the ICC Rules concerning inaccurate financial statements and the target company’s subsequent insolvency.
- Representing energy companies in DIS arbitrations concerning construction and procurement contracts for large-scale refurbishment works at gas storage facilities.
- Advising a major US tech company in a mediation of a dispute with a developer under the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
- Mediation of a joint venture shareholder dispute relating to a share exchange provision in a shareholders' agreement.
Compliance, Regulatory and Mass Claims
- Advising a leading US-based global technology company on Digital Markets Act (DMA) compliance and associated liability and litigation risks, representing it in related proceedings before the German courts and coordinating its global defence strategy.
- Coordinating global defence strategy and representing major automotive manufacturers in worldwide mass claims.
- Investigation for the German Football Association into the 2006 FIFA World Cup bidding process.
