About
Ian is an Associate in Freshfields’ Dispute Resolution practice in Washington, DC. He represents clients in multi-jurisdictional litigations and investigations, and is also an active member of the firm’s pro bono team.
During law school, Ian gained valuable litigation experience as a Student Attorney in the Civil and Human Rights Clinic, where he represented the plaintiff in a federal employment discrimination case. Before that, he examined and researched jurisdictional defenses in investor-state arbitration proceedings while externing with the U.S. Department of State’s Office of International Claims and Investment Disputes (L/CID). He also interned at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the Appellate Court of Maryland.
Ian earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where he contributed to The George Washington International Law Review. Prior to law school, he was a paralegal in the firm's Dispute Resolution practice, receiving recognition as a Pro Bono All-Star.
