Roberto is an associate in our Washington DC office.
Roberto specializes in international arbitration and he focuses his practice on disputes in Latin America. Roberto has represented foreign investors and private entities in investment and commercial arbitrations under the ICSID, ICC and LCIA rules. He has advised clients in a wide array of industries, including construction, renewables, mining, technology and consumer products.
Before joining Freshfields, Roberto worked at a leading arbitration and litigation boutique firm in Mexico City. In addition to his arbitration work, Roberto has extensive experience litigating commercial, administrative, and constitutional matters before Mexican domestic courts.
Roberto holds an LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree from Harvard Law School. He also holds a primary law degree (LL.B/J.D. equivalent) from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, where he graduated summa cum laude and at the top of his class.
Roberto speaks English and Spanish fluently.
Roberto is admitted in New York and Mexico only. Practice limited to ICSID arbitration.
