About
Ian is an Associate in our Dispute Resolution practice based in Washington, DC focused mainly on national security, international trade, and investigations.
Prior to joining Freshfields, Ian served as an assistant to Dr. Nilüfer Oral, Co-Chair of the Study Group on sea-level rise in relation to international law, at the United Nations International Law Commission in Geneva, Switzerland and as a Student Advisor to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Palau to the United Nations in New York City.
Ian has authored academic and journalistic publications on national security, U.S. sanctions and export controls, U.S. tariff policies, the World Trade Organization treaties, and United Nations proceedings.
