About
Haiyi is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group based in Singapore. He routinely advises multinational clients on the avoidance and resolution of cross-border disputes, compliance issues and internal investigations. His mandates primarily cover the Asia-Pacific region, including Southeast Asia, Greater China, and Japan.
In his arbitration practice, Haiyi regularly advises clients in the technology, private capital and industrials sectors on disputes arising from M&A transactions, joint ventures, and other commercial relationships. His matters often involve regulatory issues and business-critical decisions, where legal, commercial and political considerations intersect. He has experience acting under the major institutional rules, such as SIAC, HKIAC and ICC Rules.
Prior to relocating to Singapore, Haiyi practised with international law firms in Hong Kong. Earlier in his life, he was awarded a Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship to study in Japan and later worked in Tokyo on global internal audit projects. He studied law in the United Kingdom and is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales. He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.

- Representing a Chinese tech company in multiple HKIAC arbitrations arising from post-M&A disputes.*
