We are Saif, Mohammed, Jayden and Mridul and we’re a group from different cultural, educational and work backgrounds. Coming from different stages of academia and our careers, we comprise of a Qualified Lawyer in their country’s jurisdiction, another in the process of qualifying and two only just completing their 1^st year in Law School! United by a common ambition, we’ve come to Freshfields to enhance our careers in the legal profession and have an opportunity to learn more about ways we could contribute to the firm.

Driven by excellence and dedication, we have come to love our time in Freshfields during the two-week Work Experience Programme. As part of the Work Experience Programme, we were enthralled by Freshfields work culture and have felt welcome from the start.

Our first day comprised of an induction by the HR team at the Freshfields MENA Dubai office, who made us feel right at home and gave us an overview of the work we would be involved in during our stay in Freshfields. Soon after, they assigned us work buddies to shadow for in the Dispute Resolution Team for the first week and Global Transactions in the next.

In our first week, we were paired with Interns/Associates from the Dispute Resolution team and our work comprised of assisting them with various tasks such as research and document reviews. This work has enabled us to broaden our understanding of the Dispute Resolution and Global Transactions department.

Our Work Buddies fostered an incredibly welcoming and supportive environment, creating a space where meaningful learning and professional growth could thrive. They took the time to understand each of our aspirations, offering personalized guidance and invaluable advice to help us navigate the next steps of our journey in the legal world. Their mentorship was not only insightful but also highly practical, equipping us with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to step forward in our careers with clarity and purpose. This opportunity is one we wholeheartedly recommend to students, recent graduates, and junior lawyers eager to expand their horizons, sharpen their skills, and embark on their legal careers with a strong foundation and a sense of direction.
