My name is Justin, and I joined Freshfields as an associate in the English law corporate desk in the Vienna office in 2018.

I joined Freshfields because I wanted to work in Mergers and Acquisitions, in particular on cross-border deals.  Joining the Vienna English corporate team allowed me to work on cross-border deals all over central and eastern Europe. I was also fortunate enough to be seconded to the Freshfields Hamburg office in 2019.

In 2023, I was offered a secondment to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company which was undertaking a number of landmark transactions in Austria and Germany. Working at Freshfields in Austria meant I was uniquely placed with a competitive advantage when undertaking the secondment as I had prior experience in the region.

In 2024, I transferred full-time to the Abu Dhabi office where I continue to have an international career advising sovereign wealth funds and oil and gas companies on their investments all over the world.
