Jason’s story
A global training experience
My journey during my training contract has taken me through a variety of practice areas in our Hong Kong office – including IP/IT, Financial Services, Disputes Resolution, Corporate and Finance, as well as Financial Institutions Disputes Group in the London office. The opportunity to rotate across teams and offices has been a standout feature of my time at Freshfields, offering a truly international experience and the chance to collaborate with colleagues across Asia, Europe and the US.
Learning through challenge and support
Every day brings something new, whether it’s drafting legal documents, conducting research, or working directly with clients and local counsel. The pace is fast and the work is complex, but I’ve always felt supported by mentors and teammates who are generous with their time and insights. The firm’s collaborative culture and commitment to development have made this an incredibly rewarding experience — especially for someone like me who’s always wanted a career that spans borders.
