Jonathan Tjia has served as Freshfields’ Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Asia since 2018. Based in Hong Kong, he works closely with the firm’s Asia leadership team to develop and execute regional business strategies while managing the operational and financial affairs of the region. His role focuses on fostering connectivity across Freshfields’ Asia offices to ensure cohesive alignment with both regional and global objectives.
Before joining Freshfields, Jonathan gained extensive experience across various sectors, and had a decade-long career as a fee earner at a big four accounting firm before later taking on roles in mining, construction, and infrastructure. His experience included leading operational and financial management for significant, high-profile projects, equipping him with a unique perspective on navigating complex markets and driving strategic initiatives.
Jonathan’s leadership in Asia combined with his expertise in finance, operations, and cross-functional collaboration, supports Freshfields’ growth ambitions in the region to strengthen its position as a leader in the global legal market.
