Jason Gauld

Jason is Freshfields’ Head of Commercial Finance, responsible for working capital cycles, collections, along with the lead on developing and implementing pricing strategies that align closely with client needs and the firm’s commercial objectives. Having been with Freshfields since 1999, Jason previously served as London Finance Director and later as the firm’s London Chief Operating Officer, roles that provided him with deep operational and financial insight.

A Chartered Accountant in South Africa, Jason holds a BCom Honours from the University of Port Elizabeth. His expertise spans financial management, strategic planning, restructuring, and operational improvement. His collaborative style ensures effective engagement with partners, clients, and business teams, helping Freshfields deliver across its global practice groups.
