Freshfields advises Steliau, a portfolio company of Astorg, on the acquisition of Acal BFI
Global law firm Freshfields has advised Steliau, a portfolio company of Astorg, on the acquisition by Steliau of Acal BFI, one of the largest pan-European value-added distributors of electronic components and solutions.
This acquisition is a transformational milestone in Steliau’s buy-and-build strategy, creating a step change in scale, geographic reach and technical capabilities as the Group advances its ambition to build the reference European platform in value-added distribution of electronic solutions. The combination of Steliau and Acal BFI will create a scaled European platform of more than €750m combined sales, with broader geographic coverage, deeper supplier access and enhanced technical capabilities across most electronics applications. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory conditions and approvals.
The Freshfields team advising Astorg and Steliau was led by private capital partner Rebecca Ward and associate Chin Wah Lai, with Julien Rebibo, private capital partner in the Paris office advising on the equity arrangements.
