Global law firm Freshfields has advised Skyborn Renewables GmbH (Skyborn) on the refinancing and upsizing of its revolving development expenditure facility. The €400 million facility supports the development of Skyborn’s global portfolio of offshore wind assets.
Skyborn, headquartered in Germany and active in several countries around the world, is one of the world's leading offshore wind developers and operators. It is owned by infrastructure fund manager, Global Infrastructure Partners, which was acquired by Blackrock in 2024.
Freshfields’ cross-border team involving UK and Germany was led by GT partner, Jenny McIvor, in London and partner Michael Josenhans in Frankfurt.
