Freshfields advises TPG on its joint venture with M&G Real Estate and the subsequent acquisition and financing of a £700m portfolio by the joint venture

Global law firm Freshfields advises TPG Real Estate Partners, TPG’s dedicated opportunistic real estate equity investment platform, on the formation of a £700m joint venture with M&G Real Estate. At completion, the joint venture acquired a portfolio of industrial assets, making the joint venture the UK’s fourth largest multi-let industrial portfolio, and entered into a financing with Standard Chartered, on which the Freshfields team also acted.

A multi-disciplined Freshfields team was led by Alex Watt and Moray Macdonald, with support from Emilia Farley and Mohammad Bagash, all part of our Corporate Real Estate practice in London. Simon Johnson, Tom Wallis and Luke Hannigan, all part of our Real Estate Finance practice in London, led on the financing transaction.
