Freshfields advises Volkswagen Group on €2.4bn investment in China smart vehicle technology joint venture with Horizon Robotics

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised Volkswagen Group (through its affiliate CARIAD) on the establishment of a joint venture in China between Volkswagen’s automotive software company CARIAD and Horizon Robotics, one of China’s leading providers of computing solutions for smart vehicles. Under the terms of the agreement, Volkswagen holds a 60 per cent stake in the joint venture, known as CARIZON.
