Freshfields advises the Modern Slavery Intelligence Network on creation of new governance structure

Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) is advising the Modern Slavery Intelligence Network Limited (‘MSIN’), an information sharing network comprised of a number of food manufacturers, agriculture producers and major national retailers. MSIN and its members aim, by sharing knowledge, information and experience, to disrupt and prevent actual or suspected worker exploitation, modern slavery and associated risks. This not-for-profit, victim centric membership organisation aims to interrupt any activity that results in the servitude or exploitation of workers within the food and agriculture sector.

Freshfields advised on the creation of a bespoke governance and data sharing structure as well as the incorporation of MSIN as a company limited by guarantee.

Paul Willgoss, Independent Chair, MSIN: "We are indebted to the team at Freshfields for the diligence and expertise they have brought to setting up MSIN. Their advice and support in navigating the creation of a new organisation with such a strong victim centric purpose, and ensuring the right governance processes, has been invaluable."

The Freshfields team is being led by partners Richard Hart, Andy Robinson and Rachael Annear.
