Freshfields advised Renault Group on its 50/50 joint venture with Geely and the carve-out of its combustion and hybrid engines business

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) advised Renault on the creation of a 50/50 joint venture with Geely dedicated to becoming the global leader in developing, manufacturing, and supplying best-in-class hybrid and highly efficient internal combustion engine powertrains.

Freshfields also advised Renault Group on the structuring and the implementation of the carve-out of its internal combustion and hybrid engines business conducted mainly in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Spain, Romania and Turkey.

The transaction involved more than 60 lawyers of Freshfields from five different offices as well as other lawyers across eight additional jurisdictions.
