The transaction was announced in October 2022, and closed on December 28, 2022 following the receipt of regulatory and Archaea Energy shareholder approvals. The acquisition of Archaea Energy, a leading provider of renewable natural gas (RNG) in the US, marks a milestone in the growth of bp’s strategic bioenergy business.
