Securities Litigation 2026: From Investigation to Trial
Freshfields attorney Agnès Dunogué will be joining the Practicing Law Institute (PLI) for an in-person program, speaking on the panel "Commencement of a Civil Action: Recent Developments in Filing the Complaint, Preparing the Motion to Dismiss, and Coordinating Multiple Securities Litigation Actions." Panelists will discuss plaintiffs' and defendants' perspectives on recent developments in securities laws and explore investigating, commencing and potentially moving to dismiss a civil securities action.
The session will cover the plaintiffs' perspective on investigating the claim and filing the complaint, the defendants' perspective on analyzing the potential motion to dismiss, recent developments in the pleading of securities actions, and how to coordinate multiple securities litigation actions.
The larger program includes a faculty of leading practitioners that will update attendees on the latest best practices and case law, covering how to conduct the initial investigation and work with state and federal regulators in the interests of your clients, assess the civil complaints and coordinate multiple securities actions, litigate the case through the pleadings, discovery, class certification, summary judgment and trial or arbitration, and understand mediation and settlement of a securities action.
This program is designed for securities practitioners, outside and in-house counsel, compliance officers, regulators, investment bankers, and securities dealers, and those interested can attend either in-person or virtually.
