From IP to Data: The Treatment of Intangible Investments in ISDS

Freshfields International Arbitration Senior Associate Diego Rueda will be speaking on a panel titled "From IP to Data: The Treatment of Intangible Investments in ISDS" during the Georgetown International Arbitration Society (GIAS) Arbitration Month 2026.

The panel will discuss how investments going digital is putting IP, data, and other intangible assets increasingly at the center of ISDS. The panel will also explore how tribunals define, protect, and value intangible investments, including key challenges on territoriality, regulation, evidence, and damages.
