6th Digital Financial Services Forum
On 15 May 2025, global law firm Freshfields hosted the 6th Digital Financial Services Forum in cooperation with the Institute for Law and Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and the Center for Financial Studies.
Speakers and panellists engaged in a dialogue on open finance in Europe, examining the evolution of data sharing in financial services and its regulatory and market implications. The forum focused on data‑sharing schemes and the development of open banking over the past decade, as well as the opportunities and challenges arising from the proposed Framework for Financial Data Access. The programme brought together perspectives from the European Commission, industry and legal practice, combining expert presentations with a panel discussion on the future direction of open finance in the European Union.
