At this event, speakers will debate the following motion: “This House believes that international claims commissions are the best mechanisms for addressing post-conflict reparations for foreign investors.”
Speakers will include special guest Dr. Chiara Giorgetti (Professor of Law, University of Richmond; Vice-Chair of the Board of the Register of Damage for Ukraine, Washington, DC) and Craig D. Gaver (Associate, Allen & Overy LLP, Washington, DC) and Amir Farhadi (Associate, Foley Hoag LLP, Boston), as the debaters. The debate will be moderated by Freshfields International Arbitration Associate Anika Havaldar and will be preceded by welcome remarks by International Arbitration Partner Caroline Richard and ASIL’s Senior Programs Manager Taylor Kilpatrick.
