About
Marc is an Associate in our Structured Finance group.
He focuses on advising companies, banks and other financial institutions on complex cross-border financing transactions, including project finance, ABS financings and securitisations.
Prior to joining Freshfields as an Associate in June 2025, Marc worked as a trainee at another international law firm in Frankfurt and at the Freshfields Frankfurt office, where he could already gather valuable experiences in our practice group. As part of his legal clerkship (Rechtsreferendariat) he also worked for our New York office where he deepened his knowledge and prepared for his work as an Associate.
Marc speaks German and English.

- Advising Klarna on a bespoke securitisation and credit risk mitigation transaction relating to a portfolio of German "buy now, pay later" receivables through the issuance of a credit-linked note, with committed financing of up to €1.4bn.
- Advising PayPal on the sale and securitisation of a portfolio of its "buy now, pay later" receivables to KKR in an amount of up to €65 bn accross multiple European jurisdictions, structured as an STS securitisation.
- Advising a senior lender on the restructuring of a leading European bicycle manufacturer, including a bespoke recapitalisation and the implementation of a new financing framework.
- Advising a leading international holding company on an advanced OTC equity derivative structure supporting a strategically significant stakebuilding in a publicly listed German company.
- Advising Barclays Europe as lender on its $300m senior warehouse financing of customer contracts for Einride AB, an electric truck freight and logistics provider, financing its business operations the US and Europe.
- Advising AUTO 1 Group on the extension of a pan-European asset-backed inventory financing and the extension of a securitisation of consumer finance receivables.
- Advising an international automotive supplier on a US receivables sale and purchase agreement and on the incorporation of additional jurisdictions to a European ABCP programme.
- Advising ICG’s portfolio company TNG Glasfaser on the syndicated financing of their fibre-network roll-out in Germany.
- Advising a German automotive supplier on a factoring transaction of their supply business.
