Jean Scalais

Jean is Director of Energy Affairs. A renowned expert in energy law, his practice focuses on regulatory matters affecting the energy and natural resources sector.

Jean has extensive experience advising clients in the energy sector on a broad range of issues and negotiating with national governments and regulatory authorities. He has conducted major proceedings before the Belgian and European courts in the energy sector and other sectors.

For several years Jean was a member of the private office of the Belgian Minister of Justice and Economic Affairs, where he worked on changes to Belgian corporate and financial legislation. He has also worked as special counsel to the European Commission.

Jean speaks French, Dutch, English and Hebrew.
