Álvaro Puig

Álvaro Puig is a Senior Associate in our Antitrust, Competition and Trade practice.

Álvaro’s practice covers all aspects of competition law, including merger control, behavioural matters, antitrust compliance, as well as foreign direct investment (FDI) matters.

He has extensive experience in advising global corporate clients, financial sponsors and institutional investors in relation to complex cross-border mandates across a wide variety of sectors including healthcare, pharma, infrastructure, private equity, audio-visual, industrial, travel & tourism, and TMT. He has particular experience in multi-jurisdictional merger control proceedings before EU and other global regulators, and multi-jurisdictional FDI proceedings.

Álvaro also worked in the Brussels ACT practice and has been seconded to the Paris office. Prior to private practice, Álvaro completed a traineeship at the merger case support and policy unit of the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP) of the European Commission, as well as the legal service of the former Spanish Competition Authority (CNC).
