About
Caroline is a senior associate in the London restructuring and insolvency team. Her practice covers complex UK and cross-border debtor-, creditor- and sponsor-side mandates.
During her time at Freshfields, Caroline has been seconded to Goldman Sachs for six months and most recently to credit fund Benefit Street Partners (formerly Alcentra), supporting the European liquid credit and special situations teams.
Caroline is ranked as an associate to watch in Chambers UK and Europe and was awarded the IFT’s Rising Star of the Year 2025.

- Advising Away Resorts on its debt-for-equity recapitalisation transaction;
- Advising Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company as majority shareholder on the recapitalisation and equity reorganisation of the McLaren group;
- Advising the RCF and second lien lenders to Covis Pharmaceutical on the group’s debt restructuring;
- Advising Tele Columbus AG on its refinancing transaction including the amendment and extension at par of its c. €1.1bn senior financial debt by way of an English scheme of arrangement and a €300m capital contribution from its largest indirect shareholder;
- Advising the second lien creditors to Matalan on the company’s reorganisation;
- Advising the trustees of the Interserve pension scheme on the restructuring of the group's financial debt;
- Advising Bulb Energy on options for its sale and contingency planning, culminating in its entry into energy supply company administration and advising the joint administrators of the parent company, including on options to sell Simple’s assets potentially as part of a wider sale of the Bulb business;
- Advising Carlyle Group on the restructuring of Addison Lee, including a debt-for-equity transfer to its creditors and the subsequent wind-down of the remaining group;
- Advising Debenhams on its ‘light touch’ administration, as well as its previous pre-pack administration and company voluntary arrangements;
- Advising BMI Healthcare on its recapitalisation and the transfer of ownership to its major landlord; and
- Advising House of Fraser on its leasehold, leveraged loan and bond restructuring by way of company voluntary arrangements and schemes of arrangement and its subsequent entry into administration leading to a pre-packaged sale of the business.
