Youssef is an associate in Freshfields’ dispute resolution practice in Washington, DC.
Before joining Freshfields, Youssef spent time at a diplomatic consulting firm, where he handled complex international matters alongside former ambassadors, diplomats, and senior executives, preparing economic analyses and forecasting reports for Fortune 500 companies operating in the MENA region. He also worked at a large environmental testing and consulting firm, advising national and international clients on regulatory and litigation issues involving emerging contaminants, including forever chemicals, industrial pollutants, and environmental toxins. In addition, Youssef has worked with policy-oriented research organizations and think tanks, collaborating with diplomats, government officials, and private-sector stakeholders on issues relating to Middle East geopolitics, economic security, and international investment.
Youssef participated in Freshfields’ summer associate program, where he researched GDPR implications for cross-border data transfers, CFIUS-related regulatory issues, and legal considerations at the intersection of artificial intelligence and national security. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, holds a Master’s in International Economic Law from Sciences Po in Paris, and a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. He also holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies from Harvard University.
