Magdalen is a corporate finance associate in our global transactions group, with experience advising on debt capital markets transactions, corporate treasury loans, general corporate financings and other debt products.

During her time at Freshfields, Magdalen has spent time on secondment to the legal team at Octopus Energy.

  • Octopus Energy on its financing arrangements, including in connection with its first standalone investment round into its technology platform, Kraken
  • SES on its corporate financing arrangements, including a $3 billion bridge facility to support its acquisition of Intelsat in 2025, a subsequent $1 billion take-out term loan and ongoing financing under its €5.5 billion EMTN Programme. 
  • RELX on the issuance of €850 million 3.375 per cent. Guaranteed Notes due 2033 and its $3 billion revolving credit facility.
  • Heathrow on all its ongoing corporate financing activities, including its first issuance of two series of £70 million 6.07% Fixed Rate Wrapped Bonds due 2058 and 2059, guaranteed by Assured Guaranty Municipal Corp. and Assured Guaranty UK Limited, and the issuance of €650 million 4.500% Fixed Rate Sustainability-Linked Bonds due 2035, Heathrow's first ever sustainability-linked bond.

  • The dealers and the managers on the establishment of Kerry Group's €3 billion EMTN Programme and the two inaugural €500 million issuances thereunder.
