Luis is senior associate in our Antitrust, Competition and Trade group and a member of our Global Antitrust Litigation group.
Luis focuses on antitrust and complex cross-border litigation, advising clients before antitrust regulators and courts in the EU, Spain and globally. His practice spans the full spectrum of competition law, including cartels, vertical restraints and abuses of dominance. He also acts on behalf of clients before the courts in related antitrust judicial review appeals and civil damages litigation.
He has extensive experience advising global corporate clients across high-growth and highly regulated sectors, including technology, payments, telecommunications, financial services, consumer goods and sports.
Luis lectures on competition law in the Netherlands (Maastricht University), where he was seconded to our Amsterdam office. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and is consistently recognized in leading legal directories.
- Advising a major global technology company on antitrust and regulatory investigations in the EU and Spain, including related judicial reviews and in the defence and coordination of class action litigation across multiple European jurisdictions and the US.
- Advising a mobile payments company on antitrust, public procurement, and market access issues in Spain and across the EU before antitrust regulators and courts.
- Assisting a major global technology company in its defense against dozens of class, parens patriae, and individual antitrust actions filed in the US in relation to one of its tech businesses.
- Defending multinational corporations - including Essity, BP, and Renault - against individual and collective antitrust damages claims filed in Spain following domestic antitrust decisions.
- Assisting leading companies - including financial institutions, an online food delivery platform, and professional football clubs, in complex out-of-court negotiations and parallel injunction proceedings addressing antitrust and unfair competition issues.
