Janet Lang is a partner in our Brussels antitrust, competition and trade practice. As a US-licensed practitioner based in Brussels, she advises clients on complex competition and regulatory matters across jurisdictions, helping them navigate global enforcement and market access issues that are critical to their businesses.
Janet has extensive experience across the full spectrum of European competition law, with a particular focus on the technology sector. She is a leading practitioner on digital regulation, guiding online platforms and technology companies on emerging regulatory regimes, particularly the EU Digital Markets Act. She supports clients throughout the regulatory cycle, from legislative and policy developments through compliance and proceedings before the European Commission.
Janet also advises on global merger control matters, bringing a cross-border perspective and deep understanding of key competition authorities to help clients anticipate regulatory issues and secure deal clearance in critical jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Freshfields, Janet completed a federal court clerkship in the Eastern District of Louisiana and practiced competition law with another international law firm in New York.
Janet speaks English and French.
