Markus Kattnig

Markus is an Associate in the Global Transactions team and part of the Tech and Data group in Vienna. 

He has a profound expertise in technology, specifically in the domains of artificial intelligence and machine learning. His knowledge encompasses pertinent laws, including data protection law, and he possesses a robust background in computer science and associated aspects of trustworthy AI, such as fairness, bias mitigation, and privacy.

Markus provides strategic counsel on a full range of legal issues related to data commercialisation, data utilisation, data protection concerns, novel data applications, and analytics, inclusive of AI. He is well-versed in technology innovation, tech and digital regulatory, and gives strategic advice on the EU Digital Strategy, e.g., on the Data Act, the Digital Services Act, and the AI Act.
