Markus is an Associate in the Global Transactions practice and a member of the Tech & Data group in Vienna.
He works on complex and technically demanding matters across the spectrum of tech and data law. His experience includes regulatory advice on artificial intelligence, data ecosystems, digital platforms and advanced analytics, as well as data protection, data governance, telecommunications and wider data‑regulatory frameworks.
Markus regularly advises on how technological innovation interacts with legal requirements. He helps clients assess emerging technologies, develop compliant data‑driven business models and structure processes that meet regulatory expectations. His work spans strategic assessments, regulatory classification, and the coordination of multi‑jurisdictional compliance efforts.
He also collaborates closely with the Freshfields Lab to develop client‑specific legal tech solutions, combining technical insight with regulatory expertise to enhance compliance, efficiency and delivery.
