About
Philippe is a senior associate in our Restructuring & Capital Solutions practice, based in Paris.
His practice focuses on complex restructurings, distressed M&A transactions, and all forms of French insolvency proceedings (sauvegarde, redressement judiciaire and liquidation judiciaire) across a wide range of sectors. He delivers strategic counsel on matters involving financial distress, either through consensual out-of-court solutions or within court-supervised proceedings.
He also conducts sensitive commercial litigation and related enforcement actions.
Philippe assists a diverse French and international client base, including corporates, private equity firms, investment funds, banks, and insolvency professionals. His experience covers both purely domestic mandates within France and cross-border situations.
Before joining Freshfields in 2023, Philippe practised at leading law firms, including three years at Paul Hastings LLP.

- Netceed telecoms global group on the restructuring of its €2.2bn financial debt
- Medivet, a UK veterinary care group, on the sale of 28 veterinary clinics owned by its French subsidiary Okivet
- Le Coq Sportif, a sportswear company, in connection with its reorganisation proceedings (redressement judiciaire)
- Two strategic French AI companies on special situations capital raising (confidential client mandates)
- BNP Paribas, CACIB, CIC, Crédit Lyonnais, La Banque Postale, Natixis and Société Générale on the restructuring of Casino's €6bn debt
- Eugène Perma, a century-old haircare and cosmetics group, on its restructuring and sale to a consortium of three buyers
- A leading French fast EV charger manufacturer on its financial debt restructuring (confidential client mandate)
- Tikehau Capital on the acquisition of Cruiseline, a Monaco-based company specialising in online cruise distribution
- Sendinblue (now Brevo) on the acquisition of the assets of the IA company Clubble
- Eurazeo, as a bidder in the acquisition of the French hotel portfolio of the JJW group
- BTSG² and BDR & ASSOCIES, as judicial liquidators, in the insolvency proceedings of the Bernard Tapie group, including the sale of the newspaper La Provence to CMA CGM
- A Paris‑based restaurant group in a wide range of litigation matters involving its landlords and strategic suppliers, as well as in multiple out of court and in court insolvency proceedings (confidential client mandate)
- Wells Fargo on the restructuring of Technicolor’s €1.4bn debt
- Mavic, a cycling equipment manufacturer, in connection with its takeover by the Bourrelier group
- CMA CGM on the acquisition of Société Mahoraise d’Acconage de Représentation et de Transit (SMART), the historical stevedoring operator of the Port of Longoni
- The French entities of Thomas Cook in connection with their insolvency proceedings
- Alliance, as judicial liquidator, in the insolvency proceedings of Gibson Innovations France, the distributor of Philips‑branded audio electronic devices
