Álvaro in an associate in the Global Transactions group in the Madrid office. He specialises in all kinds of domestic and international financing transactions, including leveraged and acquisition financings (private M&A and public M&A), real estate financings, project financings, corporate financings and debt restructurings.
Álvaro has broad experience advising banks, alternative capital providers, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, private equity funds and corporates (from investment grade to highly leveraged) on a wide range of transactions across the financing spectrum and industry sectors.
He combines deep local knowledge with cross-border experience in global transactions.

- Cinven on the $1.3bn syndicated credit facility agreement to finance the acquisition of Ufinet Latam and refinance certain financial indebtedness of the target group.
- Siemens Energy on the €4.2bn bridge facility agreement to finance the takeover bid launched to acquire 100% of the share capital of Siemens Gamesa.
- KKR, Cinven and Providence on the financing aspects of the €3bn takeover bid launched over the entire share capital of Spanish telecommunications operator MasMovil Ibercom.
- Hines and Grupo Lar on the €865m syndicated facilities agreement to finance the takeover bid launched over the entire share capital of Lar España Real Estate SOCIMI.
- Lar España Real Estate SOCIMI on an €810m refinancing transaction to refinance its portfolio of shopping centers and retail parks.
- Merlin Properties SOCIMI on a €1.5bn syndicated facilities agreement to refinance its unsecured corporate debt.
- Tree Inversiones Inmobiliarias SOCIMI on its €700m debt refinancing.
- Goldman Sachs and a pool of financial institutions on a €1.7bn syndicated facilities agreement to refinance the existing debt of the MasMovil Group.
- A pool of financial institutions acting as super senior lenders on the Obrascón Huarte Laín (OHL) group debt restructuring including the refinancing of €650m secured working capital facilities and the restructuring of €400m and €325m senior notes.
- Merlin Properties SOCIMI on a €1.4bn syndicated facilities agreement, including a €665m green loan facility and a €740m sustainability-linked revolving credit facility.
- A pool of financial institutions acting as super senior lenders on the Obrascón Huarte Laín (OHL) group recapitalization and debt restructuring including the restructuring of circa €520m senior secured working capital facilities (including CESCE and ICO backed facilities).
- A pool of financial institutions on the Duro Felguera (DF) debt restructuring including the conversion of the existing syndicated debt into PPLs and convertible notes and the granting of new financing by means of a CESCE backed bonding line.
- Digi Spain and RCS&RDS on a €360m syndicated facilities agreement granted to refinance certain financial indebtedness and finance working capital needs and certain network investments.
- A pool of financial institutions acting as lenders on (i) the €260m CESCE-backed syndicated facility agreement; and (ii) the €140m ICO-backed syndicated facility agreement granted to Obrascón Huarte Laín (OHL).
