Harry is a partner in Freshfields' IP/commercial team, based in Singapore. He has over 17 years’ experience advising clients on business-critical intellectual property, technology and data transactions. Prior to focussing on non-contentious work, Harry practised as a patent litigator.
Harry is particularly active in the tech, media and telecommunications (TMT), financial services, fintech, consumer and life sciences sectors, supporting clients on complex commercial arrangements across the Asia Pacific region and beyond. In addition, Harry regularly works with our mergers & acquisitions teams to support clients on the technology, data, IP and separation aspects of corporate transactions.
Before moving to Singapore, Harry practised in each of London and Melbourne for a number of years.

IP, technology and data
- Standard Chartered on procuring the IT infrastructure necessary for each of its new digital banks in Hong Kong and Singapore. The matter involved negotiating myriad IT supply agreements, for the infrastructure, platform and software necessary for the new digital banks
- an Indian conglomerate on entering into various long-term and high-value technology licences and related EPC agreements relating to the commercialisation of battery technologies
- a Southeast Asia SuperApp on the due diligence of its technology assets for the purposes of identifying red flag issues, and remediating the same, ahead of a multi-billion dollar US listing
- Astro, a leading satellite television company in Malaysia, on: (i) the outsourcing of its conditional access platform (and certain middleware platforms); and (ii) the outsourcing of its customer experience platform
- Maxis on the outsourcing of its customer experience platform
Digital infrastructure
- Zain Group and TASC Towers Holding on entering into a joint venture with Oordeoo, by which the parties will combine their mobile telecommunications tower portfolios to create the largest independent towers company in the MENA region, operating 30,000 towers across six jurisdictions (Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Tunisia and Jordan)
- the shareholders of PT Inti Bangun Sejahtera Tbk (IBST), an Indonesian towers business, on the competitive auction sale of a 90% stake in the company to PT iForte Solusi Infotek, a member of the Protelindo group
- Indosat and Lintasarta on the formation of a data centre joint venture with Big Data Exchange, and entering into a long term, high value data centre hosting services agreement, in a US$300m deal
- Infratil (a Morrison & Co infrastructure investment vehicle) on its US$160m investment into, and restructure of, the 'automated-on-demand' communication services business of Hong Kong Telecom, branded “Console Connect”
Life Sciences + Healthcare
- Dr Reddy's Laboratories on the acquisition of a nicotine replacement therapy business from Haleon for GBP500m
- Everstone on the divestment of its minority stake in Slayback Pharma to Azurity
- Lupin on the US$526 million divestment of Kyowa Pharmaceuticals Industry to Unison Capital Partners
- Accord Healthcare and Intas Pharmaceuticals on their $750 million acquisition of Actavis' UK and Irish businesses from Teva
- Takeda on the competitive auction of Takeda's respiratory drugs portfolio to AstraZeneca for $575 million
- Ramsay Sime Darby on the divestment of its hospital unit to Columbia Asia for US$1.2billion (by way of competitive auction)
- a private capital bidder on its multi-billion dollar bid for Icon Group, an integrated cancer care, pharmaceutical services, and pharmaceutical compounding business, operating across Asia Pacific
