Rebecca is a pro bono lawyer who manages the pro bono program in the New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Silicon Valley offices. In this role, Rebecca coordinates the firm’s US pro bono efforts, and works with corporate clients and nonprofit partners to collaborate on pro bono matters.
Rebecca previously spent six years as a litigation associate at Freshfields, where her practice focused on commercial litigation, international arbitration, and investigations. She served as a law clerk to the Hon. Dennis Jacobs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and to the Hon. Naomi Reice Buchwald of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Recent representative matters include:
- Representing a class of Special Immigrant Visa applicants in successful litigation before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the DC Court of Appeals.
- Defending the Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security in a challenge to its permit-to-purchase gun safety regulation.
- Representing an educator in her lawsuit against the New York Department of Education, alleging that DOE’s refusal to transfer her to another school violates disability laws.
- Representing an individual in his Section 1983 action against the police for denying access to medical care.
- Provided legal representation to individuals in immigration, parole, and family court proceedings.
- Submitted an amicus brief on behalf of InterAction and Charity & Security Network, both comprising nonprofits and humanitarian aid organizations, in the case of Twitter, Inc. v. Taamneh.
