Rutger is an associate in the Tax team in our firm's Amsterdam office and joined the firm in 2024.
His practice covers a broad range of Dutch and international tax matters, spanning transactional work and general tax advice. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, (re)financing transactions and cross-border investments, as well as on corporate income tax, withholding tax, VAT and employment tax matters. He also has experience in tax litigation and compliance issues. Rutger advises a diverse client base, including financial institutions, private equity and sovereign wealth funds, and companies across the technology, media and telecommunications sectors.

- Advising Compass Group PLC on its agreement to acquire Vermaat Group B.V., a leading premium food services business in Europe, for an enterprise value of approximately EUR 1.5 billion.
- Advising Merck KGaA on its acquisition of HUB Organoids Holding from Stichting Ontwikkelfonds voor Organoïden.
- Advising ABB on its acquisition of Sensorfact B.V., a fast-growing Dutch energy management company providing AI-enabled software solutions to customers across Europe.
- Advising Essent on its acquisition of InEnergie Holding B.V., a Dutch provider of sustainable energy solutions focused on the development and operation of heating and cooling projects.
- Advising Talpa Network BV, a Dutch mediatech group on its sale of Talpa eCommerce to House of Tickets.
