Zofia is a senior associate in our IP and technology group, and works on non-contentious IP, IT, data protection and commercial matters, with a particular focus on tech M&A.
Zofia advises clients on cross-border IP and technology transactions, including the acquisition, disposal, licensing and separation of IP and IT assets. Zofia also works on a wide variety of commercial agreements, including relating to the exploitation of intellectual property rights and data as an asset, and complex business separation projects, and regularly advises on legal and regulatory issues arising in connection with the emergence of new technologies, including AI.
Zofia was recognised as an Associate to Watch in the Chambers UK 2026 IP rankings and as a 2025 IP Rising Star in Managing IP’s IP Stars Ranking. She is a member of the City of London Law Society's AI Committee.
Zofia trained at Freshfields, completing seats in the intellectual property, corporate, finance and ACT teams, and qualified in August 2014. As part of her training contract, she also spent time on secondment to the firm’s Singapore office.
- Advising a leading West Coast hardware and software business on a series of strategic private acquisitions of digital content and AI-related software businesses across Europe from founders and funders.
- Advising London Stock Exchange Group plc on a number of matters, including:
- the acquisition of Refinitiv in an all-share transaction for a total enterprise value of $27 billion, including in connection with integration matters arising from the acquisition;
- the €4.325 billion disposal of the Borsa Italiana Group; and
- acquisition of The Yield Book and Citi Fixed Income Indices from Citi, including on a series of ongoing commercial arrangements.
- Advising RELX, a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers, on a series of strategic acquisitions (including platform and data-driven businesses) and disposals of non-core assets.
- Advising ABB on the entry into a definitive agreement for the sale of its robotics business to SoftBank Group.
- Advising Mars on various matters, including its acquisition of Hotel Chocolat and brand licensing arrangements.
- Advising United Al Saqer Group on its $200m investment in the DNEG Group, a visual effects, computer animation and studio conversion business.
- Advising various private equity clients on investments in tech and other IP-rich businesses, including:
- General Atlantic on the IP, data and technology aspects of several strategic investments including its $150m investment in Odoo SA, a leading provider of open-source integrated business software applications, its €100m investment in Spendesk, an all-in-one spend management platform and its investment in Back Market, a global marketplace for refurbished consumer electronics; and
- Cinven on its exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of Artefact, a global provider of data and AI consulting services to large, blue-chip enterprises.
- Advising Carta on its acquisition of Accelex, an AI-powered platform for automating data extraction and analytics for alternative investments.
- Advising Strava, the social network and platform for active people and athletes, on its acquisition of Runna, a company developing personalised running training plans and coaching, including in connection with the diligence of brand ambassador and other sponsorship arrangements.
- Advising Tesco on the IP/IT aspects of the £4bn sale of its South Korean business.
- Advising a pro bono client in connection with data privacy and other intellectual property issues surrounding a major pro bono project to set up a national femicide database.
