Christian is Freshfields' Senior Consultant for Geopolitics & Strategic Risk, a global role reflecting the growing importance of geopolitics to our clients' strategic decisions - particularly in Defence - and the firm's ambition to be the adviser of choice in a complex and contested world.

Drawing on a long-standing depth of knowledge in geopolitics and an extensive network built over many years, Christian shapes Freshfields' thought leadership on geopolitical and strategic risk, supports the firm's presence at fora such as the Munich Security Conference and supports client work with geopolitical insight. 

Christian's background in M&A and company law, including as a Freshfields Knowledge Manager, gives him a distinctive ability to turn geopolitical complexity into commercially relevant advice.

He is fluent in German, English, Spanish and French.
