About

Ollie specialises in asset-backed financing and securitisation. 

He advises investment banks, private credit funds, fintechs and corporate clients on senior and mezzanine warehouse facilities, back leverage transactions, forward flow facilities and loan portfolio acquisitions. Before joining Freshfields, Ollie spent over 10 years working in industry roles at leading global investment banks and an international fintech company. 

He is an expert in working with all types of receivables assets including mortgages, lease receivables, trade receivables, inventory, consumer loans, SME loans, infrastructure and commercial real estate and works regularly on restructuring distressed asset-backed debt facilities.

  • PayPal/KKR: advised PayPal on its forward flow facility with KKR for European “buy now pay later” loans with customers in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, with €5 billion of warehouse financing from investment banks and credit funds.

  • Barclays/Einride: advised Barclays as senior lender on its $300m warehouse facility for Einride AB, an electric truck freight and logistics provider, financing freight contracts with customers in Sweden, Norway, the UK, the US, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.

  • Barclays/Ferovinum: advised Barclays as senior lender on its $550m warehouse facility for wine and spirits trade receivables and inventory for Ferovinum, a drinks industry working capital financing company operating in the UK, the US and Europe, with mezzanine financing from Pollen Street Capital.

  • Barclays/Hometree: advised Barclays as senior lender on its £250m warehouse facility for Hometree, a UK renewable energy equipment lease provider, financing customer leases for solar panels, heat pumps and boiler equipment, with mezzanine financing from CPPIB.

  • Jadwa Investments/Jeelpay: advised Jadwa on a murabaha facility for Jeelpay, a student loan financing company operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • M&G Investments/Tradeplus 24: advised M&G as mezzanine lender in respect of a warehouse facility for Tradeplus 24, an SME/trade receivables lender operating in the UK, the Netherlands, Australia and Switzerland together with a related balance sheet financing facility and warrants subscription.

  • Blackstone/Kensington: advised Blackstone and Sixth Street on the sale of a £2bn UK buy to let mortgage portfolio to Barclays as part of the sale of the Kensington Mortgages business.

  • Selina Finance/Goldman Sachs: advised Selina Finance, a UK fintech specialist lender (HELOC/second charge mortgages) in relation to its warehouse facility from Goldman Sachs and mezzanine financing from a leading global credit fund.

  • PremFina: advised PremFina, a UK fintech insurance premium credit lender in relation to warehouse facilities and risk retention financing provided by a leading global investment bank.

  • Prodigy Finance: advised Prodigy Finance, an international fintech student loan provider, in relation to warehouse facilities from major investment banks and credit funds and a number of balance sheet and bespoke asset financing facilities.
