Adrián is an associate in our Madrid office specialising in domestic and international financing transactions, including leveraged, acquisition, real estate and corporate financings.
He regularly advises banks, alternative capital providers, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, private equity funds and corporates (from investment grade to highly leveraged) on a wide range of transactions across the financing spectrum and industry sectors. As a specialist in banking and finance, he also often gets engaged in securitization, distress and insolvency matters.
Adrián combines deep local knowledge with cross-border experience in global transactions.
Adrián's experience includes advising:
- 32 banks lead by BBVA and BofA as global coordinators on a €2.5bn sustainability linked revolving credit facility agreement for Iberdrola Financiación and Avangrid as borrowers and Iberdrola as guarantor
- CarVal Investors on the acquisition, through a Luxembourg SPV, of the economic interests arising from a portfolio of 3,500 Spanish mortgage loans from Abanca and its subsequent transfer to a Spanish public securitisation fund which issued €310m class notes rated by S&P and KBRA and listed in the Spanish fixed income securities market (AIAF)
- PGGM in, among others, the syndicated financing for the €900m acquisition of RESA, the leading Spanish student accommodation group from Greystar, AXA and other investors represented by CBRE Investment Management
- Cinven in, among others, a cov-lite financing in the context of their acquisition of Idealista, Spain's leading real estate portal from EQT, Apax, Oakley and certain managers for €2.9bn
- HBX Group on the refinancing of its existing indebtedness through the execution of a €1.6bn syndicated facilities agreement in the context of its IPO and listing on the Spanish stock exchange
- Phoenix Tower International, a portfolio company of Blackstone, which owns and operates numerous telecom towers throughout Europe, on the €1.2bn global refinancing of its European operations
- Sunrise RE / Ares in, among others, the debt financing for acquisition and development of logistics assets across Europe, including a €93m and a £115m multicurrency development facilities agreements and, following completion of their development, a refinancing and cross-collateralization thereof through a new £258m multicurrency facilities agreement
- GIC / Azora Capital (through their JV, Brisa Desarrollos y Residencial) in, among others, the €120m financing arranged by ING and Natixis for the development of “build to rent” residential properties located in Málaga and Valencia
- Midea on the financing aspects of its acquisition of Teka, including Midea’s negotiations with a syndicate of Spanish financial institutions led by BBVA regarding €175m of distressed debt of the Teka Group
- CVC on the bridge to bond financing for its €1.9bn partnership with Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, the association of clubs in the two highest leagues of men’s professional football in Spain
- B. Santander, BBVA, B. Sabadell, CaixaBank, Ibercaja and Targobank on the refinancing of a €182m syndicated financing originally granted to Iskay Pet
- JP Morgan and Banco Santander as arrangers of Aernnova’s €640m syndicated facilities agreement.
- CVC’s portfolio company, Skill BidCo ApS, on the financing for the acquisition of Scan TopCo Ltd and SGL Trans Group US through senior secured callable floating rate bonds in an aggregate principal amount of €750m and a DKK 750m super senior revolving facility agreement
