Luis is an international associate in our New York finance practice. He assists commercial banks, export credit agencies, multilateral institutions, and other financial institutions, as well as borrowers, sponsors, and developers. Luis advises on a wide variety of domestic and cross-border project development and financing work. This includes corporate and project financings, as well as other complex and traditional transactions.
Luis has experience in both the U.S. and Latin America. His experience in the latter region draws on his Spanish language skills and his ability to bridge cultural differences.
Prior to joining Freshfields, he was an associate in the capital markets and financial services practice at Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enriquez, a Mexico City–based law firm.

- Li-Cycle on a limited recourse financing of a battery recycling project in New York state from the Department of Energy.
- A battery manufacturer in connection with the development of a gigafactory to produce nanotechnology batteries for use in smartphones and electric vehicles in the United States.
- KfW IPEX-Bank on a limited recourse financing for the Hybar project, a steel recycling and rebar project in Arkansas.
- DFC on ongoing matters related to the existing financing associated with Platanares, a 35MWe geothermal power plant located in western Honduras, the first utility scale geothermal project in Honduras.
- DFC on ongoing matters related to the existing financing of Apollo Towers Myanmar, a tower site developer and servicer for mobile network operators in Myanmar.
