Global law firm Freshfields announces the appointment of Konrad Gröller as Regional Managing Partner for Continental Europe (CE), effective 1 October. He will succeed Markus Paul who led the CE business very successfully for many years, alongside a thriving client practice which he will continue to focus on going forward. Markus is one of the leading private equity practitioners in Europe. Recent transactions where he successfully led the Freshfields team include Blackstone and Permira’s joint take private of Adevinta, one of the largest global platforms in online classifieds, and Permira and Nordic Capital’s joint recommended takeover offer for Copenhagen-listed vaccine business Bavarian Nordic.
In his new role, Konrad Gröller will oversee the firm's regional operations and strategic initiatives. He brings extensive experience and strategic insight into this role, drawn for example from his prior appointment as Managing Partner of the Vienna office. He will continue to maintain his successful client practice as one of the leading M&A practitioners in his market. Amongst his clients are entrepreneurial families like Porsche and Flick as well as national and international corporates like Nippon Express, Suzano and EVN.
