Freshfields advises DVB Bank SE on the sale of its Aviation Finance business

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) is advising DVB Bank SE (‘DVB’), on the sale of its Aviation Finance business to MUFG Bank, Ltd (‘MUFG’). The purchase agreement provides for the sale of the entire €5.6bn portfolio, which includes the transfer of employees and the operating infrastructure to MUFG. The transaction also provides for the transfer of the Aviation Investment Management and Asset Management business to BOT Lease Co., Ltd. (‘BOTL’), an affiliate of MUFG, and is expected to complete in the second half of 2019, subject to approval from antitrust authorities.
 
DVB’s Aviation Finance division provides tailor-made financing solutions ranging from bridging loans to complex long-term facilities, whilst their Investment Management arm focuses on investments in aviation equity instruments. The Asset Management business is active in aircraft remarketing as well as lease and technical management.
 
The Freshfields team is being led by partners Dr Matthias-Gabriel Kremer, Dr Alexander Glos, Dr Konrad Schott, Dr Torsten Schreier, and Dr Peter Niggemann.
